Meet Alana Fischer…

I first came to yoga almost two decades ago on the recommendation of an acting teacher who suggested it as a way to improve breath control.  Once I immersed myself in the practice of yoga I fell in love with it.  For me yoga is the one thing that helps me experience a true sense of calm and what keeps me coming back to my mat.

My approach to yoga is a result of my deep reverence for both tradition, and the insights of western alignment. Between traditional training in hatha yoga in Mysore India, and western style training here in Calgary, I have completed over 500 hours of teacher training. I like to teach foundational yoga poses in a slow and controlled way that helps participants build strength and flexibility and connect to the present moment and the experience of being in their body. Having fun on the mat is always essential!
